Our minds skim the surface
reluctant to cut into sensitive flesh.
Its complacency we service,
but a cold mountain air interrupts breath.
With crystalline sting it hurts us,
borderline bearable to make us fresh.
And being such it furthers
that intricate flower fluttering from our breast.
