Good day everyone. We hope your week went well. Well, it’s Sunday, so it’s time for another reading of a classic. And this week, we decided to go with a bit more of Eliot. Simply put, because he is one of the finest poets to have ever lived, and it is always fantastic to hear his voice. Truly one of our favourite poets of all time.
This week, we’ve gone with “The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock”, easily one of his most famous and accomplished works. Started in 1910, and published in Chicago in June 1915, this piece has a striking voice, speaking as it does of embarrassment, mortality, anguish, despair, decay, death and life itself. A perfect example of dramatic inner monologue, this is quite simply perfect. We hope you enjoy this piece as much as we do. So take a minute out of your day, and drink in these words by one of the masters of modern literature.
Leave your thoughts below on this piece, and follow us for more new poetry and literature, and news of what is going on in our corner of the literary world.
